Wild story about a Spanish language Facebook group that's being used in the open as a black market for cheap labor, identity document fraud, and "massages" *wink wink*
⚡EXCLUSIVE: A Spanish-language Facebook group in Maine has become a hub for job ads, apparent prostitution, and passport fraud.
'Hispanos en Maine' was started by a non-Hispanic guy from Wiscasset, who has used the page to recruit labor and promote his business.
One local roofer has complained that the page is undercutting licensed Maine contractors by recruiting labor at rock bottom wages.

Jared Golden comments on his bipartisan bill to ban foreign donations in state and local referendum elections:
"While foreign nationals are already barred from contributing to candidate campaigns, current law does not prohibit them from financing issue-based ballot measures. The Stop Foreign Funds in Elections Act closes this loophole by amending the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to extend the prohibition to every aspect of our electoral system."
The bill has passed unanimously in the House of Representatives

In light of the China files Trump released, it's worth recalling that Maine Gov. Janet Mills created a program that allowed a Somali NGO to register migrant voters and even give themn *walking around money* -- and that NGO has distinct ties to PRC.
It's right there in state contracts.
The head of Gateway Community Services is under DHS investigation and is currently on the lam in Kenya. The fraud allegations against Gateway became so indisputable that (8 months after we reported it) even Mills had to turn off the money spigot.
Something less well known: Gateway has a still-operational 501(c)3 run by State Sen. Jill Duson's son, Nathan Davis. Some reports suggest Davis is now running the for-profit arm as well.
In what is surely a remarkable coincidence, Davis studied at Bates College with Liping Miao, did a study abroad program in PRC, and claims to speak Mandarin. Despite the impressive resume, he finds himself making $75k for a dumpy non-profit in Maine. Miao, in addition to teaching at Bates, was involved in the botched effort to create a Chinese birthing center in the Lewiston-Auburn area under the auspices of Miracle Enterprise LLC.

Anti-ICE protest in Scarborough today, notably drawing a much larger turnout than the protest organized by out-of-state social media influencers outside of the ICE facility yesterday:
