๐ WE AUTOMATE THE MARKING AND ADMIN OF HANDWRITTEN TESTS. ๐50+ Awards ๐คPartner Univ. of ESwatini ๐ Powered by @TrevorNoahFdn @sabfoundationsa @mastercardfdn
Last week, I spent the week in Kenya at the @inABLEorg#InclusiveAfricaConference, hosted in partnership with the @MastercardFdn.
It was a truly eye-opening experience.
When I built @TheMarkingApp, I thought I was addressing inclusion by helping schools benefit from technology without the barriers of cost, infrastructure, connectivity, or learner devices.
What I learnt is that inclusion goes much deeper than access. It is also about how we design technology itself, from colour contrast and font sizes to accessibility features and user experiences that many of us as developers often overlook because they seem too small to matter.
The most powerful part was hearing directly from people whose daily experiences are shaped by these design decisions.
Thank you to the @injiniedtech #MastercardFoundationEdTechFellowship and all the partners who made this opportunity possible. I leave with a deeper understanding of what it truly means to build technology that works for everyone.

80% of school-going children in Africa do not have access to smart devices. The Marking App was built to solve this.
With University of eSwatini, we meet with the Director of Education eSwatini ๐ธ๐ฟ to present the potential impact our app offers and discuss collaboration.
This year we are on our way to impacting over 70,000 learners in South Africa, and the @SABFoundationSA refused to let us do it while walking barefoot.
Today we unwrap our very first company car, and we do so with immense gratitude.
Thank you to the SAB Foundation for believing.
Weโre excited to share that The Marking App Africa has been selected as one of the Top 10 Fellows in the @injiniedtech@MastercardFdn EdTech Fellowship.

February this year, our Founder, alongside our Country Lead and the Director of Growth Lab for Africa, had the opportunity to present @TheMarkingApp to the executive leadership of the University of eSwatini, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Justice Thwala.
We were deeply honoured to have been invited to share our journey with students at #NewYorkUniversity, as part of the Fundamentals of Social Entrepreneurship course, on invitation by Prof. Shalane Yuen.
It was a privilege reflecting on the lessons, challenges, and insights from building @TheMarkingApp, and engaging with students on problem discovery, ecosystems, and ideation in real-world social innovation.
Grateful for the opportunity to learn and exchange across continents.
