@JohnHal75174634@essexhighways The issues are largely down to emergency works that have sprung up by utility companies on several roads this week responding to infrastructure faults which is outside essex highways control
@Tim4Labour@SonicUtd@MartinGossCol@essexhighways The situation has been made much worse by the various emergency works by UK power networks in lexdon road and magdalen street and to a lesser extent Bergholt road
Otherwise the congestion issues may not have been so serious
@ianb74@essexhighways Not much that can be done about power issues across various parts of the city which is why uk power networks have temporary lights on three key roads
Otherwise things might just have been manageable
@Colchesterviews@Essex_CC@essexhighways@CadentGasLtd@UKPowerNetworks As advised the ukpn works are all emergency ones which is largely why things have been so bad this week
Although would question why the mile end gas works started before the main works nearby are yet to finish unless cadent were unable to delay these planned works any longer
@iam4rjk @FirstEssex Nothing to do with first buses and the mile end road works are cadent led not Essex highways although certainly unfortunate these works have begun at this time
The Bergholt road works are emergency works to fix a faulty power cable so not much can be done for those situations
@Essex_Travel@BBCEssex Queues on a130 also leading to congestion through Wickford as traffic turns off at rettendon and head through town to reach a127
@Essex_Travel Knock on effects of partial closure of m25 a12 brook street roundabout as traffic comes off a12 early and comes down a130 to get to a127 or a13 to reach m25
Delay on a130 now all the way back to rettendon @BBCEssex
@Teldeb@essexhighways Councils have no power if a utility company has to make emergency repairs apart from to ensure the traffic management is proportionate to the issue and if any ways of improving traffic management can be implemented such as manually controlling temporary lights in peak periods
@Teldeb@essexhighways Not my office as I dont work for essex cc
Many of the issues in recent weeks were utility based such as the emergency water main repairs near Wilsons Corner plus thames water repairing a collapsed sewer in the high street and right now the issues with a gas leak on kings road
