The spelling styles seem to change with era (1980s vs 2020s gymnasts). But most critically they also vary between 🇰🇵&🇰🇷 with one program taking far longer for the style to be changed than the other.

Can someone explain what's going on here?

Anyone here an expert on Korean naming conventions? I'm trying to make a master list of all Korean gymnasts from 1970-present, but am always getting different spellings

Olga Karaseva passed away at the end of October at the age of 76

She's not a widely recognized name in the gym community these days, but she was one of the gymnasts who built modern gymnastics and didn't get much credit for it in the shadow of her more famous teammates

It is common for websites to credit her as 3 different gymnasts with 3 brief appearances before disappearing when it was actually 1 great gymnast who kept appearing over & over again
