On May 15, 2026, 42 students and children were abducted by suspected terrorists from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in the Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria
The 42 pupils and students, which include primary and secondary school children as well as toddlers taken from nearby homes during the raid.
The children remain missing and held in captivity with no official major breakthrough or safe return recorded as of today.
While families, local residents and concerned citizens continue to voice deep anguish and frustration over the prolonged silence and lack of public rescue updates from federal authorities, despite ongoing assurances from the Borno State Government that security and military forces are working to secure their release.
