The opening text of Warhammer 40k has long been a staple of the franchise, which is why it was funny to see some people try to say the line, "You will not be missed" was new. That line, and 90% of the dialogue in the trailer, is as old as 40k itself.

But the visual framing of the line, "You will not be missed" in the new trailer is important. Said over the corpse of a dead Guardsman, immediately cutting to the Emperor looking upon the viewer.

This is very deliberate visual framing. People made a big deal about the Emperor moving, but not about why. It's to show that the line, "You will not be missed" is a lie. Someone, the Emperor, knows of this man's sacrifice. He will, in fact, be remembered.

This recontextualizes the entire opening text of Warhammer 40k and who's potentially saying it. Overstating the Imperium's brutality, downplaying the importance of sacrifice to protect it, gassing up the Chaos Gods, using the term "Carrion Lord" to describe the Emperor.

Chaos, in some form, is the one making the speech.
