@TPLassist Train chaos yesterday meant no choice but to pay on one of your trains. Outrageous £68 single from Carlisle to Edinburgh. Very unsympathetic contact centre guy hit back with ‘Well you shouldn’t board without a ticket. Could have been fined £100!’ Charming!
UK gov u-turns on top tax rate abolition because it’s a ‘distraction’. Morally wrong and hugely costly for millions is a better description. Utter ineptitude.
Perhaps those who slammed @scotgov for not immediately following suit should also be reflecting this morning…
@RealStephenKerr@NicolaSturgeon You’d pay more than that in water charges per year down south. Here we have free prescriptions, free eye tests, free university fees & no water charges. I’m happy to pay an extra £295 if it means I get those benefits!!
Hard to know what to say to the suggestion I should mirror policies (tax cuts for richest) that have sunk the £, crashed the mortgage market, pushed pensions to the brink, imperilled public services & forced a Bank of England bailout. What planet is the PM living on?
@TPExpressTrains what the actual? Notified this morning 16.12 train Edinburgh to Carlisle cancelled. Yet it just left! We bought new tickets after your message!
@TPEassist@TPExpressTrains No the train has arrived in Carlisle and we are still in Edinburgh. A text this morning said 16.12 was cancelled. Yet it ran. Why were we not texted!
We are delighted that Lydia Okroj, a stalwart of the Scottish Women's Aid movement, is being awarded an honorary doctorate next week from @StirUni for her contributions to women's and children's rights.
We're so proud of you Lydia💜

Never thought that Hugh Grant would become a standard bearer for leading the revolt against the Tories. What a great bloke. And his description of Boris Johnson as an over-promoted rubber bath toy has got to be up there with the best ever 😂#JohnsonTheCorruptPM#JohnsonOut
