So this is Google’s website with their cellphone converters and apps to make VR accessible. #edu6323 Google Cardboard – Google VR https://t.co/eApHlkeHuk
@MeganP72747120 I would suggest having a calm “orientation” module before you head off into your VR adventure. You have to orient the user and teach some controls. Or use chairs 😊 people really get into it and take off blind as a bat.
@Elissa_C1 It’s actually pretty inexpensive to start up with VR. There are cheap holders (Google Cardboard) that are compatible with smart phones. The large cost comes with developing bespoke content. #edu6323
In all seriousness though, both jobs I have had in L&D have put money and time behind AR/VR technology. It was very nebulous and the use case was hard to define its place in a learning journey. The technology is so futuristic that it’s hard to think about WHAT it can do. #edu6323
So some of the items in the report are interesting but I think many will come sooner. Blockchain is huge! And we are working to speed up use case applications. Adoption will have to do with cultural acceptance as well. #edu6323
@Elissa_C1 AR might work for you (think google glass)! I struggled with VR headsets but AR is wild and rooted well in “reality” that it doesn’t disorient you but takes time figuring out how to touch, swipe, move something not physically there.
@Melissa68445526 Not a teacher, just L&D, but we used similar strategies that I was taught a long time ago in teaching cert classes. Even adults are motivated by recognition, like e-cards or leader boards, stickers, bragging rights. We actually did a whole coffee passport at my last job. #edu6323
@TadeanP@john_krewson I just wanted to take a very static lesson for the app and change it to personalize the experience. #edu6323
Also, on a personal note, Dave Ramsey is a little crazy. Approach his coaching with caution 🙃
@Elissa_C1 @SusanGo33213722 I have (thankfully) not come across that in corporate learning 😅. I think fostering a growth mindset works with your plan of pre and post. More employees are seeing training as a perk, so the question has to be framed to draw out why it is mutually beneficial company & employee.
I’m interested to see others responses or use cases for this polling question. At a former job we tested kahoot for an in person training. The adult participants went WILD for the questions and games built. There were modest prizes, stickers, cups. It was a hit! #edu6323
I was witness to the Google glass implosion in SF. People were upset of being “filmed” and places of business were coming up with policies. So my question is should screens have clear use case before or should use be free form and use case after? #edu6323
I am taking a mental break from my Friday workload. But taking a look through our my Friday night to-do for class. I curate almost everyday, this is the tool I use. #edu6323 https://t.co/Ggkb8hhZiu
