If anyone knows that lady, tell her this: do a video, apologise to Mr Tony Elumelu and every other person who might have felt offended by her action. Say that it was an innocent mistake and you take responsibility for it. Reaffirm your respect to elder as a properly raised African child. Let the video trend too and watch what happens.

I was once in a Board meeting and the Board was interviewing selected applicants for a major role. One of the Applicants came in and recognized an elderly Man on the Board and went ‘Argh Bola (not real name), how are you doing?.’ Of course, the elderly board member was forced to say hi but I can tell you the person was screened out as soon as they left the room. I observed his face all through and he was livid. Apparently, they knew each other from another Bank. Two things happened there:

1. He should have greeted everyone and keep it moving. The Elderly Director should have been the one to familiarize if at all they wanted to. The Director should also be the one to disclose. The applicant doing it seemed like they wanted to gain undue advantage.

2. You are a middle aged person who saw one of your former bosses who retired a long time ago among your interviewers. You called them by their first name and went ahead to greet them like you casually ran into one of your friends at a restaurant. Other Board members were even the first to take it personal before the elderly member.

Work culture is cool but application is key.

I can confirm that my Staff Member has been released to me. Peter has been a good employee of the Firm with no blight whatsoever and it was worrisome to learn of his arrest during a raid last night.

I am in touch with @AbimbolaShotayo @PoliceNG_CRU and the entire IGP Complaint response unit who have deescalated the matter. I appreciate everyone and we will keep engaging until we have the Police Force of our dreams.

There are other people here too waiting for their loved one. They have threatened to use force if we don’t leave. The officer has directly threatened me more than thrice now. He said he’s the S/O here.

Imagine watching football at a viewing center, and the next thing you know, you are caged inside a cell at Ogudu Police Station like a criminal. No offense committed, no evidence, just random, predatory profiling to fill up cells.

Why have a Complaint unit when it serves no purpose? Both the Police Complaint unit in Abuja and the one in Lagos couldn’t do a thing! The one in Abuja, the Area Commander wouldn’t even pick their call. They tried to speak with the S/O who only agreed to speak with them on the second attempt to get a senior officer, that one said there was no one to speak with. The one in Lagos, they couldn’t reach the Area Commander at all. How are you telling me you couldn’t reach the head or a senior officer in Area H all night? Both from Abuja and Lagos. Close down the complaint units and let’s know we have none.

I introduced myself as a Lawyer, told him my staff was arrested during raid, I saw the staff, he saw me, they didn’t allow me speak with him. Asked me to leave and come back in the morning. Why should citizen be in the cell on mere suspicion? Let’s say you have a “case” against him, he’s not entitled to see a Lawyer too?

.@LagosPoliceNG all your official lines that I have tried are not responsive including that of the PPRO. One of my staff was arrested at a Ball house this evening while watching football, I am here at Ogudu Police station and they are not responsive.
