I have repeatedly crowed about the difference in meaning when Republicans and Libertarians talk about shrinking the government.

To a Republican, like Scott Jennings here, cutting the number of people working for the government is cutting the government. They don't care about how much POWER the government has or how much it SPENDS, they only care about how small of a cadre is in control of the government.

If the government is run by a singular man, so long as that man is a Republican, any amount of power and spending is perfectly acceptable. He's the RIGHT man, so it's right, no matter what.

To a Libertarian, this is an abomination. It's the antithesis of small government.

This is because, to a libertarian, small government means distributed governance. The Federal Government being "so small [we] can barely see it," "a government so small you'll never even know it's there," or a government that will "fit it in your palm and crush it," means that the government's POWER and ABILITIES are limited to the extreme.

Trump's "cutting of the government" has increased spending. It has increased the power and control of the government.

You can have no freedom under a king, no matter how good of a king, for man does not have the ability to be everywhere, know everything, and do everything. The only person who can lead your life is you.

Trump has expanded the government. He has not cut it. He has, very temporarily, reduced the number of people in the government. Did the services foisted upon us get removed? No. Have the regulations been reduced? No. Have we more freedom? No.

The budgets are HIGHER and increasing. The control is higher and increasing.

And when the Democrats win in 2028, as the Republicans have once again shown that they are utterly incompetent, they will increase the number of people employed by the government while saying they need more money to pay them.

Trump has been an utter failure, 20 months in to his 48 month term.

He was a failure in his first 48 month term.

Biden and Obama were terrible.

And the options laid out instead of Trump were terrible in Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris.

There is no way to vote for Democrats to stop the madness. There is no way to vote for Republicans to stop the madness.

There are only two possibilities, really:

1) If there's a way to "vote our way out of this," it can only be done by third parties. That means the @LPNational is the only hope.

2) If we cannot vote our way out of this, then we need people who can build governments the way we believe they should be made, whether that's minarchy or anarchy, and that group is, again, @LPNational.

It doesn't matter if you believe we can vote our way out of this, as there's only one group preparing for both scenarios: the Libertarian Party.

That's not pretending the party is perfect, nor Godlike, nor the Great Savior: It is saying that the party comprises the People who have the knowledge and skills to do it.

We can fix the system, whether that requires tearing it down and building a new one or not.

Get involved. Stop allowing the clowns to tell you that you can avoid politics. You cannot. It's everywhere and it's destroying your life because you aren't having your say in it.

Fight, as none of us are free until we all are free.
