When I was going through Mac’s files, I found a recording simply labeled “6-8 Piano Comp Sad.” Mac would often record these musical ideas, tuck them away and give them whatever name would help him identify them later.
When I first heard this beautiful melody, it reminded me some of his other piano pieces like “Arctic Circles” or “Angels Theme” or “Waltz for Addicts.” I envisioned it as a jazz ballad, gave it to Ben Lewis and he arranged it beautifully on piano, featuring our great Lt. Dan Band trombone player Harry Watters.
The recording of this song is on Resurrection & Revival Part Three and begins with Mac himself at the piano, playing the melody he wrote. Hearing his hands on those keys and then hearing that idea grow into the finished “6-8 Jazz Ballad” is very special to me.
So much of Resurrection & Revival Part 3, and now my upcoming book Graceful Warrior, has been about sharing Mac’s creativity, his spirit, and the incredible work he left behind. I’m grateful for every opportunity to introduce a little more of him to all of you.
I know you’ll enjoy “6-8 Jazz Ballad.” Watch and listen here: https://t.co/bq8dd1lZoM
Mosquitoes. What good are they?
Turns out, they actually have a purpose.
There are thousands of mosquito species. Only a small fraction regularly bite humans, and fewer still spread disease.
Apparently, it’s just a few assholes giving everybody else a bad name.
🚨 PLEASE JOIN US IN WELCOMING ZEEK ARKHAM TO THE VRRC EXECUTIVE BOARD!
The Victims Rights Reform Council is proud to welcome retired NYPD Lieutenant Zeek Arkham as our new Executive Director of Law Enforcement & Public Safety Policy.
@ZeekArkham brings two decades of law-enforcement experience to VRRC, including work in investigations, Special Victims, forensics, tactical operations, and public safety.
For VRRC, having experienced law-enforcement voices at the table is incredibly important. If we are serious about preventing the next victim, we need victims, families, law enforcement, policymakers, advocates, and subject-matter experts working together—not in separate rooms.
Zeek understands the criminal-justice system from the inside, but he also understands the very human impact violent crime has on victims and families. His experience and perspective will be invaluable as we continue developing solutions, identifying systemic failures, and bringing the right people together to make our communities safer.
We are incredibly excited about what is ahead and grateful to have Zeek joining us as we continue building VRRC nationally.
Welcome to the VRRC family, Zeek! We’re glad to have you at the table. 🇺🇸

Went to dinner last night.
Husband of my girl’s friend, a banker, tells me:
“Bitcoin will go to zero. Quantum computers and government regulation will kill it.”
I said, “Of course. Obviously.”
Arguing with a moron is a sign of retardation.
🇮🇳 REMEMBER THIS MAN: CAPTAIN SMIT MACHCHHAR.
An Indian captain flying hundreds of people from Dubai to Tel Aviv was stabbed in his own cockpit.
Wounded, bleeding, with the aircraft plunging thousands of feet, he fought back.
Then passengers and crew did something extraordinary:
They stormed the cockpit.
They restrained the attacker.
Other pilots took control.
And that plane LANDED.
Hundreds of families got their loved ones back today because ordinary people refused to freeze when everything went wrong.
Captain Smit Machchhar — India and the whole WORLD should be proud of you. 🇮🇳
And to the passengers and crew who ran toward the danger instead of away from it:
Heroes. Every single one of you.
This is what courage looks like.
@rwhite0023 I love Brittney I just want to hug her and make her feel safe and loved she deserves that she been down through there I wish her some peace😊
