Today the staff of the Old Barracks Museum went out to support the City of Trenton in the preservation and redevelopment of the Eagle Tavern.

The Eagle Tavern is one the oldest structures in Trenton, dating to 1765.

Female followers of the army provided necessary services such as laundry for the men and were paid to do so. In a time when many more soldiers died from disease than anything relating to the battlefield, woman working as laundress helped keep these soldiers alive with their work.

The Old Barracks would like to commemorate this Presidents Day by remembering the leadership of George Washington and the sacrifices and hardships of the Officers and Men of the Continental Army through the American Revolution.
