I’m thinking lots of #dungeonsanddragons would get us thru our home-time! Great narrative, character, prediction, creative & critical thinking and study of cooperation and competition. A great master like @BlackDragonCan could offer the whole school curriculum packaged in fun!
Like teachers, Dungeon Masters aim to guide, challenge and engage. Here are 5 DM practices compatible with teaching:
🃏 Design for experience
🃏 Wrap it in a story
🃏 Offer choice
🃏 Reward risk and normalize failure
🃏 Provoke emotions https://t.co/pLQ2Pp96xi
This week, the Games and Play class developed game prototypes. Game design is a powerful assessment tool that can be used for any subject and and age group. Thanks to @CrowellInteract for leading the charge. #designthinking
Game designer extraordinaire @CrowellInteract led the Games and Play class in designing prototypes. Game design is ideal for collaboration, critical thinking, design thinking, systems thinking, and processing source material. @OISEUofT@CTLOISE#gamedesign
