By teaching artists to imitate instead of innovate, the church hands complete control of our cultural narratives, music, and art over to the secular world.
A lack of creativity is the ultimate sign of spiritual stagnation. It reveals that we are living off the revelation of yesterday's pioneers rather than listening to the living breath of God today.
When we renew our minds, we operate the way God wants us to...

(Oh, my God)
They don’t want no hip-hop in the church

Pompi Headlines Gospel Event That Filled a Popular Kenyan Nightlife Venue to Capacity
Zambian gospel artist @ThePompi recently headlined a unique Christian movement taking place in Nairobi known as The 3rd Service - an event that has been drawing huge crowds and changing how many people view evangelism.
The event, organized by Kubamba and spearheaded by @MozDj, reportedly filled Nairobi Street Kitchen to capacity, with over a thousand people gathering inside the venue, which is widely known for nightlife and entertainment events.
One of the major headlines of the night was the presence of Kenyan gospel star @mojishortbabaa, currently regarded by many as one of the biggest gospel artists in Kenya’s urban Christian music scene. His appearance added even more excitement and visibility to the gathering.
What has especially caught people’s attention is not just the attendance, but what happened inside the venue. Videos and testimonies from the gathering showed worship sessions, an altar call, and Holy Communion taking place in a setting many would traditionally associate with secular nightlife rather than church services.
The event is part of Kubamba’s long-running mission to reach young people through urban gospel culture, music, and creative outreach. Over the years, Kubamba has become one of Kenya’s most influential youth gospel platforms, using music, media, concerts, and public spaces to spread the Gospel.
The concept had already sparked debate last year after American Christian rapper Lecrae headlined one of the editions. Some Christians questioned why a gospel event would be hosted in what many considered a “club environment,” while others defended it, arguing that the Gospel was never meant to stay confined within church walls.
DJ Moz himself has openly spoken about once being part of Nairobi’s secular entertainment scene before becoming a gospel DJ, saying his mission is to take Christ into spaces where many people may never normally step into a church.
As clips from the gathering continue circulating online, many people are now debating a bigger question:
Should churches and Christian ministries intentionally take the Gospel into unconventional spaces like clubs, festivals, and nightlife venues to reach more people?
