Lo ocurrido a la llegada de Uzbekistán al Icahn Stadium de Nueva York ha generado una enorme polémica.

La selección asiática fue sometida a un protocolo de seguridad nunca antes visto para un simple partido amistoso. Revisiones exhaustivas, controles desproporcionados y un trato que muchos califican como degradante para una delegación internacional.

El momento más tenso llegó cuando un oficial de seguridad le gritó al utilero uzbeko: “¡ALÉJESE DE LOS BOLSOS!”.

Honestly, Nigeria really did Amodu Shuaibu dirty.

If you are a conspiracy theorist, you could say our past atrocities could be what is working against Nigerian football now 🤣🤣🤣.

Because, how can the Super Eagles qualify for the World Cup when it was just three African teams, and now cannot qualify out of 10 countries.

Amodu toiled and qualified Nigeria for two World Cups: 2002 and 2010, but somehow, on the eve of the World Cup, he got fired by the NFF. And in his own words, it was totally "unfair."

That 2002 campaign was very tough. Nigeria had to overcome countries like Ghana, Liberia that had George Weah, and even Sierra Leone with Mohammed Kallon.

I really felt for him in 2010, because Tunisia almost snatched that ticket from us, then few months to South Africa, NFF fired him and went for Lars Lagerback. The Swedish bamboozled NFF in his interview, and claimed to have a dossier of all Super Eagles players.

This squad did not make it out of their group, even when a win against Korea Republic would have qualified Nigeria for the round of 16.

Six years later, Amodu died, in fact three days after Stephen Keshi had passed on. NFF almost fired Keshi too. They gave him a query two or three months to the World Cup.

A lot have happened in Nigeria football. E fit be the people wey we don wrong before, na'em dey affect Naija 😅. Anyway, I don't think it is karma, we have simply not done basic things.
