U could have all the money u could ever dream of, u could have all the fame u could ever wish for, but it isn't love nor health & it ain't peace inside, is it?
@JoeyWebber25@abdoudoucoure16 Eurovision warm up for Qualifying, on the open air stage at the Pier Head. Not enough characters to say all that. More focused on #EFC 👍🏻
A bizarre weekend. Went the Pier Head on the Sunday to see the Eurovision. A Seagull proper shat on my t-shirt (it was a sign) Had to go Beatles shop and buy a Revolver T. Then off to Brighton on BH Monday to see @abdoudoucoure16 score the best technical goal of the season.#EFC
In extra time, Graeme Sharp scored an absolute masterpiece of a volley down the Holte End, as we beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 in the Semi Final, 40 years ago. But, I’ll never forget his 70 yard run, taking everyone on in his wake. What a player our No 9 was. #EFC#FACUP
In 50 years of watching #EFC I don’t think I’ve attended a more insane night, than this, 4 years ago. A chain saw massacre (a pen knife actually), Just Stop Oil, 10 men, 15 mins added time and a 99th min winner. Out the 11 that played, only Coleman & Keane are still at the club.
@FootballInT80s A painful day all round. Dominated the game with Alan Irvine having his best game for #EFC. Two big chances missed by Sharp & Heath, ambushed at Piccadilly station on way back and to top it all, the special broke down. But, 12 months later we won it.
Happy Birthday @NevilleSouthall The best there ever was and ever will be. Maybe not his most important save, but for me his best ever. When you think of how pitches were back then, plus the standard of boots, gloves & no such thing as a goalkeeping coach, it defies belief
@neil_mccormick Great piece Neil. At 11 I was lucky enough to be visiting my brother in Calgary, from the UK in the summer of 79. At the height of Breakfast in America, he took me to see Supertramp outdoor concert in the MacMahon Stadium Calgary August 79. It was mind blowing for an 11 year-old.
So many similarities with the last English right winger Everton signed at 19, from the Championship or 1st Division, as it was in 1983. But, go and make your own history Tyler, you’ll have all the support around you to do so. 🙏 #UTFT
Thinking of you today Michael, along with your amazing mum, dad and three beautiful sisters. Also our daughter who lost her funny, kind and loving boyfriend. 💙
@LeisureLeagues2@henrywinter I haven’t been to one, so I can’t give an opinion on that. Although, the book does allude to a lot of skirmishes and he doesn’t hide away from it. 👍🏻
Duncan’s book is an absolute masterpiece from the 1st Chapter to the last. Unbelievable read with stories that grip you, from one page to the next. Also, brutal honesty on #EFC plight over the last 4 years. Superbly put together by @henrywinter Best autobiography, I’ve ever read.
