The first principle of the gospel is faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The Savior taught that the Holy Ghost would teach us all things. If everything must be proven to you with hard evidence then you will have knowledge, but not faith.
@ryanswalters73 Crazy, huh? It’s almost as if you’re just supposed to read the Book of Mormon and then just ask God if it’s true or not.
But that’s insane. How can there be evidence of something I can’t see? Oh, yeah. That’s what faith is.
@VasiliyBiletsky@MikeWingerii I respect your views on this. We believe the apostle Paul offers clarity on this topic when he says we can be joint-heirs with Christ. We also look at John’s words in Revelation when he says we will sit with Jesus in His throne.
@DrFisura@MikeSMillerArt I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for over 30 years. I have never heard that we receive salvation by works.
@Ruminations01@Other_Sheep_ You aren’t understanding our belief on this issue. We certainly believe i. Matthew 22:30. In the resurrection we aren’t married or given in marriage. That’s one of the things we do on behalf of those who have passed in the temples here on Earth.
@dweinberger66@MikeWingerii@Imcg_2 Thanks, man! Just out of curiosity, what exactly does Agnostic mean and how did you arrive at that system of beliefs?
@AndrewR56487390@MikeWingerii Andrew, we also believe Jesus is the ONLY Savior. What official teachings of our church do you feel go against the teachings of Jesus of the Bible?
I can’t speak for others, but my guess is what they were explaining was since the Book of Mormon goes hand in hand with the Bible if the Bible suddenly vanished and never returned our church has this other testament of Jesus Christ which, like the Bible, contains the fullness of the gospel.
@GodzillaBort@MikeWingerii It’s too bad you blocked me Failed Bacon. I’m pretty harmless. Anyway, you can say we aren’t Christian’s if you want, but we are.
@Joh17_3@MikeWingerii Yeah, but not really. We believe the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one god, without end. You know, like the Bible and the Book of Mormon teach.
@kmabauer@MikeWingerii Yes Sister Bauer, that’s why in our church we don’t preach any other gospel other than the one Paul was referring to in his epistle to the Galatians.
