@EbenezarWikina That’s another way to put it. If we can’t carry out tasks that need next to no mental exertion, you think we’ll be excellent at strategic activities? Bruv, let’s just stick with commissioning roads that’ll fail in six months, that’s our lot.
Until Nigeria delivers steady power, everything else is just vibes. A country of 200m+ still struggling to deliver 6,000 MW. If excuses generated electricity, we’d be exporting power by now.
The Federal Government has said its reforms in the power sector have attracted $2 billion in investment, with liabilities reduced to N146 billion.
The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, said this on Thursday in Abuja during the commissioning of the new headquarters of the Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO).
Those elected or appointed to high office in Nigeria always seem to have an explanation for failure. It often feels as though they were chosen to manufacture excuses rather than deliver results. Nothing is working and it gets worse by every passing day.
You now charge market reflective rates on the premise that it’ll lead to improved power, that hasn’t happened. Power generation and distribution isn’t a new area of human knowledge anymore, we should have gotten a hang of it by now. Give us power not excuses.
“The main issue we have today is the gas supply shortage to the power plants, 75% of our power plants are using gas. While 25% Using water. If there is no gas supply, there is nothing the generating companies can do”
~ Minister Of Power says
Abuja, probably Nigeria’s only purpose built city, yet water supply, refuse collection and disposal, street lighting, public transport and traffic management are terrible. If we can’t get Abuja to run like a proper modern city, what can we run? It’s such a shame.
I like that Tinubu didn’t wear a suit at this official visit. The traditional attire worn during official assignment at home should be maintained when abroad on official assignment as well. It’s also a good way to sell Nigerian fashion and culture.
@aedcelectricity@NERCNG The basis for agreeing to the tariff increase in spite of terrible economic conditions is because you promised increased power supply, if that’s no longer tenable shouldn’t there be some kind of recompense for customers? Also, we are in 40 degrees weather for crying out loud!
If there’s any justice in Nigeria @NERCNG will make the DISCOs pay compensation to Nigerians for this breach of contract. 20 hrs minimum of power was promised as the basis for tariff increase, @aedcelectricity is not living up to that. Why then are we paying a higher rate?
