Metro South troopers were on patrol in the city of Detroit, when they saw a Chevrolet Cruze that had been reported stolen.

Troopers followed the car westbound on I-96 into #Livonia when a #LivoniaPoliceDepartment patrol car equipped with a Grappler device was used to stop the stolen vehicle as the driver tried to get away.

The suspect driver continued trying to get away after being “grappled” which resulted in the rear axle of the suspect vehicle being ripped off.

The driver and two female passengers were arrested and no one was hurt.

The 27 year old male driver from #Brighton was lodged at #Livonia PD for possession of the stolen car and a probation violation warrant.

Both female passengers were arrested after it was determined they had several warrants from different jurisdictions.
