@sola_chad@JoshuaBarzon If Catholic ritual is similar to Judaism, but it proclaims the truth of Christ, is that not an argument for the CC. I mean I think that embodies Matt 5:17 and Matt 16:18

@michaeljknowles Couldn’t you make an argument that Venezuelas government didn’t fit the metaphysical requirements of what constitutes a government. One could say the international law didn’t apply to their “government” at all. Even if it has been labeled as one. What does this mean 4 U.S.A?
Some on the Right are mistakenly concluding that the fecklessness and perfidy of international institutions mean that international law as such does not exist. But law is an ordinance of reason for the common good and therefore exists even when it isn't observed or enforced.
@Ben_Jobe85@simonmaechling Oh I bet they’ll handicap my progress in a worldly sense but I refuse to compromise with evil when it comes to stuff like this.
@Ben_Jobe85@simonmaechling I agree you have to have something your looking for. Done in the proper way it’s usually truth in a context of discovery or a context that serves a good purpose. But the purpose motivated by money interests usually subverts the truth aspect.
@Ben_Jobe85@Kulambq Isint that the point though. If you believe one philosopher is less true than another than by definition, if they are rated “higher” than one that is more in line with truth as you perceive then they would be worse. Some people don’t engage with philosophy as just a discipline.
Much of what passes for modern religion comes down to the unscrutinized premise that Christians fundamentally and crucially misunderstood their religion until roughly five minutes ago, when some modern person—though which precise modern person varies—finally figured it out.
@Ben_Jobe85@QuoteNietzsche I appreciate the compliment and I think you could probably teach me something, but the true higher intellect has the ability to convey dense concepts to the lower intellect. The source of all wisdom is God, and yet humans can possess it.
@Ben_Jobe85@QuoteNietzsche I don’t think this is true personally, sometimes the extravagant vocabulary holds up a mirror of ignorance to the potential student. This can be a stumbling block. I find merely gesturing at higher vocabulary accomplishes preciseness & makes the reader curious.
@Ben_Jobe85@QuoteNietzsche Sounds interesting but just know when you use sesquipedalian loftiness you make a lot of people think you’re just trying to sound smart rather than conveying an idea.
@Ben_Jobe85@QuoteNietzsche Well there actually isn’t any criticism. I raised a question you should pose to yourself. I have a feeling a philosopher would engage with my question. I’m sure your philosophy is good.
