@BensonForHart I’m gonna be so real. I fucking read it as McMann because I was so pissed off about that trade and if he was back on the market after signing for 5 mil more I’d be ultra mad lmaooooo
@BensonForHart This is pretty common. Agent starts wayyyyy high, team starts at QO. Always a decent win both ways. The arb team is really good and takes away all Ill will between player and team. Always portrayed as a bad thing but almost always what’s best for both.
Funny how I get harassed for being a Mitch Marner stan from people who's teams didn't even make playoffs 🤭 Even funnier when MM had more points than their teams best player last season 🤭
John Chayka’s “masterclass” offseason:
- Lucked into 1st overall
- Gave $7M + term to a 37 year old goalie coming off an .877 SV%
- Paid $8.5M for a PP merchant dman
- Spent $7M on Duhaime and Sissons who both had 10 points last year
Definitely not a playoff team
@Metalpanthers@Nealerrr Gonna come down to being healthy. Bob will also need to play much less with Stolie as his backup (health depending again). It’s gonna be a wild year in the Atlantic again. May never not be ever again tbh.
@Metalpanthers Oh for sure! Freddie probably the best option but that’s only after seeing his contract lol. Before he’s not. Panthers know Markstrom from his first contract so maybe they see something we don’t 🤷 like you said, goalies are fucking random lol
@Metalpanthers Big agree that Bob wasn’t the move. Not the happiest he’s who the Leafs went with but I get it with Art and Stolie. Markstrom is 2 year commitment but could move him ultimately. Just feels like there had to have been a more sure thing option if you were still going aged.
@sammyersson@Metalpanthers 1 year less. 1M less. No where near as good in career. I’m not saying Bob was the answer by any means. But Markstrom and Schmid could be rough. Hopefully you’re right and the goalie coach can work some magic on both of them and make it a tandem worth running in the playoffs.
