@Major_Passons I heard the full episode and the picture @EthanJSkolnick painted was that while MIA wasn’t out, things are leaning towards a Cleveland return. That HN quote takes things a bit out of context.
@AnthonyD_heat Speculating, of course, but I imagine the purpose of the report was to insinuate that MIA hasn’t lost out on players for this year’s build. There’s a plan in place (e.g., buyouts, LBJ bid, etc.), hence the “targeted players” piece. Whether that’s really true or not… 🤷🏻♂️
@ChefTrillie Yea… I’m out on this one. We’ve seen multiple stretches of meh play when Jokic isn’t there to anchor the two-man game. He’s also been abysmal for Canada.
@Alf954 🎯
It was a tough watch. Abnormally horrendous vision for a good majority of the season. There are cheaper options that can fill his role without being a black hole offensively and a practice cone defensively.
@HPbasketball@Alf954 This is the glaring flaw I see in most analysis making the rounds. Kel’el Ware is a very close second behind the 13th pick in terms of assets. Motor concerns are being way overblown. Ware intrigued MIL enough to flirt w/ offer at the deadline w/o 13.
@AnthonyD_heat Not necessarily. They’re trading their franchise icon - making sure they explore every possibility and holding off for teams to potentially get desperate before the draft is the logical approach regardless of whether they “like” MIA’s package.
@JohnJablonka_ The update to the lottery was a massive stroke of luck for this FO. IMO, they should really reconsider trading Bam in light of changes. Compete w/the development of young talent, damaged/disgruntled assets & vets on the cheap; all while building up war chest w/ the Bam returns.
@HeatvsHaters Regardless of what the product is next year, fan accounts will remain invested in whatever version of the team shows up. We want to push for a star because the East is WIDE open, yet criticize when we don’t have assets b/c we never take a step back. Can’t have it both ways 🤷🏻♂️
@Love4thaCulture@WadexFlash@hothothoops Possibly. Personally I don’t see the vision. Team’s talent ceiling is significantly capped if MIA keeps both as “core” players.
Heat brass sending Crotty to do their bidding on the broadcast… Most fans can decipher through the propaganda. “Winning every game possible” is just as horrendous as tanking when you’re a middling team with poor asset management. #HeatNation@5OTF_
@flasportsbuzz Heat brass is playing a dangerous game that breeds apathy. Fans don’t need yearly titles…but they do need a vision. Perpetual middle ground risks turning passion into indifference, and indifference is far harder to reverse than a rebuild. Thanks for doing what you do, Barry.
