The failed transaction needs to be added to your database as a net zero change to the user's holdings. You cant "fix" it with a false reward or crypto transfer. This is basic accounting...

Is Coinbase going to fix the incorrect 1099 tax info before it's time to file taxes? First you guys marked failed transactions as reward income, now you just FALSELY changed it to a zero cost crypto transfer into coinbase. STILL WRONG.

The problem is your team seems insistent on attempting to utilize the existing transaction types to "undo" your failed transactions. You need to just void the failed transaction!

Well, it looks like they appear to be working on it still. I see the transaction log is changing.

We still have a problem though, because they just changed the incorrect "reward" to an external transfer of Eth at 0 cost basis, which is still wrong for tax purposes.

Coinbase is falsely reporting failed transactions as "reward" income on tax documents and MANY people are reporting no relief from coinbase after multiple attempts to get this corrected via support, myself included.
NEEDS TO BE FIXED

@CoinbaseSupport I already DM'd my case number. All that did was result in a follow-up email from coinbase support saying:
"Thank you for reaching out about this issue. Unfortunately this issue is still unresolved. Rest assured, we are working hard to rectify this situation as soon as possible."

Coinbase is falsely reporting on my tax info that they awarded me 1 free Ethereum (I wish). This was in reality a failed sell transaction during website issues. Filed 2 tickets now trying to get this resolved before year end/taxes, no luck yet.

That's great that we are getting COVID under control, but Lyme is also a debilitating disease that can affect people of all ages indiscriminately. The same with RMS Fever, tick induced red meat allergy, and the countless other tick-borne diseases.
