If this is true, they are by far the worst gaming platform holder. This is going to backfire on them and I won't have any bad feelings when that happens.

More reports why Sony is trying to end physical discs:

- They want to cut out the middle man, to make more profit per sale (like remove walmart cuts etc)
- Sony thinks the fanbase will not switch platforms, they can do what they please without losing fans
- They are convinced by ignoring this issue, they fans will just accept the changes and convert to 100% digital with time.
- Sony thinks they are "too big to have commination with fans". Talking to fans has no margin benefit, so they refuse to address fans and will keep doing so

I have lost all trust and goodwill with PlayStation, no words what is happening right now. Horrible company

Imma be real,

Mario Kart Tour's Content has been either ported or been reused in both the Booster Course Pass or World. So beside content that wasn't ported, are we really missing anything? And they can port Ever Crisis as a remaster for console / PC tbh.

Two mobile live service games from huge developers announced their services are soon ending.

This is just further proof of what a digital only future could look like and also begs the question of the future of the mobile gacha game.

One day, the games WILL shut down. What happens to the hundreds/thousands you spent? Will content be made available for free? Will they provide offline installers to preserve these games and accounts? Big questions that need answers if this the future of gaming.
