Christie's Auction House, London - Marion and I went to have a look at JeffBeck's instrument collection, on auction today. The instruments were certainly not in "mint condition" - well loved, they were modified, battered, bruised and abused, necks swapped, pickups (1/3)

rusted, and covered with years of grime and DNA. Unexpectedly, this guitar caught me off-guard, emotionally. It is the 1954 "Oxblood Les Paul" used on "Blow By Blow," the 1974 album recorded at Abbey Road Sudios, with George Martin producing and my old pal, the late, great (2/3)
