It’s such a pleasure to share these moments of joy/disbelief with the wonderful youngsters you have watched bloom into young adults across 5 years of schooling. Our #ClassOf2023 have been sensational and now have the results to match. We will miss you all - enjoy celebrating! 💛
A useful reminder from @tes of what was not a significant enough impact on the current year 11/13 to be given consideration in England but was in other parts of the UK
A huge congratulations to our #Classof2023 who picked up their GCSE results today! Wonderful to see so many students opening those envelopes which confirmed what we already knew - that they had #madesuccessinevitable! Wishing them all the very best of luck in their next chapter!
We sometimes presume that students know how to make meaningful revision notes...Head of Science @MagnaCartaSch providing a brilliant explanation of how to do this effectively, when preparing for exams...
I don’t need reminding that I work with phenomenal colleagues, but I’ve just witnessed the most exceptional teaching of a complex theory by Head of Maths @MagnaCartaSch Windows open, air circulating & cold, but you’d never know it! Students hanging on her every word! Brilliant!
So proud of the email I received about Amelia today from school. Thank you to her teachers for their amazing support, of course to Miss Stevens for sending it in half term. @MagnaCartaSch@JessKStevens@TimSmithCEO
Don’t be nervous about not teaching perfect lessons for the first few days of term. Your students will just be elated that you are there with them. We have a great opportunity to model how to deal with adversity; let’s focus on that. Everything else will be fine. Bring it on!
@GavinWilliamson ”Pupils will turn up on their first day and much will be as it always is: new pencil case, crisp new shirts and shiny, if slightly uncomfortable, new shoes — ........”
Does this include the disadvantaged students you are so keen to help?
“Closed”? Nobody told me! I was writing online lessons, delivering live lessons, marking work, talking to my tutees, supervising key worker children and teaching year 10s. But the PM says schools were closed. As he is PM he must know the facts. So did I imagine all that stuff?
Just as I feared, it is largely irrelevant what grades the school submitted. They just wanted the rank order to allow them to match this cohort up to a set of results based on how previous cohorts did. Disgraceful.
What a day of CPD! Quick but impactful input on behaviour, before subject specific time (thanks @SCaveHums& @MrRiceHistory for mine) rounded off with joyful coaching training from @SanStansfield@LearnCultures. I hope @informed_edu would be proud! 😀
Thank you so much for the positive comment. @MagnaCartaSch and @BrightonHillSch are the two wonderful schools which have been really supportive of the work. So pleased u r finding it relevant . Ty for your positive comment. U have made my bank holiday weekend
