Reminder: the trade for the Anthony Davis, coming off a Finals run, was a WIN NOW trade, intended to win in 2-3 year window. Flagg was an unintended bonus, who should NOT FACTOR IN when evaluating the trade. The goal for this team, as communicated by the Mavs legendary GM, is Finals or bust. That was the intention when you traded away a GENERATIONAL SUPERSTAR. There should be IMMENSE pressure on Nico Harrison to WIN RIGHT THE FUCK NOW. Moving off AD & entering a rebuild means you traded Luka Doncic FOR NOTHING. It means FAILURE.

If this season tanks, most Mavs fans will clamor for an AD trade to build assets, wipe the board & focus on Coop. it’s the logical next step. but we can’t lose sight of the fact that Luka Doncic was stolen from our nightly living room TV in an attempt to deliver a Championship to Dallas NOW. Nico does not get a get out of jail card by landing Flagg & resetting the timeline. it should be completely unfucking acceptable, and it should be a hard line in the sand, that if the Mavs are forced to trade AD, the moment the words “rebuild” are uttered, Nico Harrison needs to be out on his ass.

We cannot let the expectations he sold us when smashing our hearts into a billion pieces go unanswered. You don’t get to ship off the most beloved man in the City, tell us “it’s OK bc I have a better plan: defense wins championships, our team is better now & we have a 2-3 year window, doing things MY WAY”, then bail on that plan a year later when it utterly fails & you fell ass backwards into a #1 pick. I already see this playing out, and Nico seems to sit there pressure free, as if Flagg gets him out of his promise to the City. It does NOT. That MF must be held accountable. Rant over.

Honestly, would I be crazy to say I’d rather have Flagg year 1 than Luka? A super-efficient scoring wing who can playmake and defend at an elite level is a lot rarer and more valuable than a prototypical high-volume scoring guard
