I'm pretty sure my writer's block is just my main characters going on strike. "We'll cooperate – IF you stop giving us emotional trauma and threatening bodily harm!!" #amwriting (not)

My players: "Let's get a move on, we've barely explored any of this place."
Also my players: *spends the next ten minutes watching cats walk back and forth*

@KMAlba3 @Reveal_House Length of time. Whether you're actually putting words to paper, or just brainstorming or troubleshooting your plot, that's still writing. That's my view on it.
Writing novels should be more like writing code. Character names should be parameters so if you need to change them you can do it once at the to of the file. You should be able to write functions to avoid typing the same thing multiple times. #amwriting#amcoding
@LaraRouseWrites @Reveal_House Oh but there are so many...
Ok. My MC once tried fighting off a swarm of bees because another character told her to run, and she didn't want to be told what to do. Does that count?
Rinse and repeat.
By which I mean take a shower, get inspiration in said shower, come out of shower thinking you'll finally be able to write, return to step 1.
How to be a writer in 6 easy steps:
1: decide to write
2: write nothing
3: stress about not writing
4: scold self for stressing about not writing
5: agonize about it to friends at 3am
6: have a cookie

#WritingCommunity, #writers, what is your opinion on the best punctuation mark... *drumroll please*... the interrobang‽‽
The interrobang serves as both an exclamation point AND a question mark, for why wouldn't you need to express both‽
Thoughts anyone‽
@PhilippaClaire1 Hi! I'm a currently unpublished YA fantasy writer! I also write a bunch of poetry, and I play d&d. Currently in an extreme #amediting mode!
@DreamingAria_ I think it depends on the character. One of my main characters is never named, another comes from a proud family and has six names and a title. Do whatever feels natural. Don't have every character introduce themselves with all their names just to give names though.
