One of 2025’s breakout stars and World Indoor 60m silver medalist Lachlan Kennedy 🇦🇺 is out of the world championships in Tokyo due to injury.

Kennedy will be one of the favourites for the 100m title at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next year.

He wrote on Instagram: “It’s with a heavy heart I have to announce that I won’t be competing at the world championship in Tokyo.

“I landed outside the pole vault mat in practice injuring my knee and elbow.

“I will be undergoing surgery this week.”
