Dave here, with a big announcement: The Something Others are disbanding.
After 5 years, we’ve determined it’s time for us to move on to other endeavors.
We want to thank all the bands we’ve played with and all the venues we played at. It’s been great fun.

Because of the ongoing pandemic, there are no plans for a farewell show.
However, we did have one more song in the pipeline, so as a goodbye gift, please enjoy “Black Cat.”

To keep supporting musicians during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are waiving our revenue share on all sales this Friday, May 1, from midnight to midnight PDT. Let’s come together as a community to put money directly into artists' pockets: https://t.co/hPhgm7WBR4

As I’ve said before: while we appreciate any money you choose to spend on our music, we are doing okay right now.
We prefer that you focus your attention on bands that have had tours cancelled or postponed.
If for some reason you follow us but not @YouRestYJL, you should do the following:
1. Start following them, too; and
2. Check out their thread of DIY bands that could use some love today. Spend money if you can: I can vouch for basically all of those bands, they’re all great
Side note: while every dollar is appreciated, I am not asking you to buy our music.
We are working stiffs with day jobs. We will be okay. Support others in your local scene (and other scenes beyond)!
Buy music and merch online. It’s the 21st Century. We can do this, folks!
Starting to notice tours and shows getting cancelled because of COVID-19 concerns.
Please BUY MERCH AND MUSIC from artists you like.
If they can’t play shows, they will need to make money so they can keep making music.
Streaming will NOT make up the difference.
Tonight, @VenaMorrisBand didn’t so much play a set as weave a *sonic tapestry* out of threads made of bombast, intensity, polish, but also a little bit of grit. Glorious stuff.
(And a little later in the evening, they introduced a thread made of trombone.)
Watching #MacSaturn on stage is probably about as close as you can get to getting a live-action taste of the late 60s without a time machine and very serious risk of causing a temporal paradox.
