@StormBuonantony $19,500/year as sports writer for Centre Daily Times in State College, PA. First job after graduating from PSU. Chasing beer and wing specials after going to print at 12:30 AM. Living!
@richschellhase@BudElliott3 Agree. Hugely popular. We’re great at one, very good at the other. I support both. But because most of the country doesn’t participate, they’ll never be popular enough to generate meaningful revenue for the athletic department. Basketball could with competence and backing.
@RLRblog 2024-2025 season certainly is supports #1. But how do we know, given the lack of financial support. Rhoades had a pretty decent track record before he arrived.
@psunation3@audsnyder4@JonSauber Totally understand. I’ve been a men’s basketball season ticket holder for several years. I haven’t renewed yet this year because it’s tough to get excited about this program.
@psunation3@audsnyder4@JonSauber I respect your opinion. You’re not alone. But if true, you really don’t care about the health of the athletic dept, you’re just a fan of some teams. Ignoring the second biggest revenue generator at most schools, and another that should break even, puts a strain on the whole dept.
@RLRblog If Old Main thinks he needs to stick around to see the stadium project through, fine. But once it’s done, Pat Kraft needs to be shown the door. What he’s done with the basketball programs is an embarrassment.
@ThePSUPlaybook@Joel_Haas1 Couldn’t stay out of foul trouble most nights. Feel like jump from MAC to B1G was bigger than he knew. You could see promise was there, though. Him getting drafted in 1R was a killer for Rhoades/this year’s team.
@WhoDeyLEX@MMcCunney@GoodmanHoops@TheFieldOf68 Nothing’s changed. He tried to hire a Samoan Mormon to be Penn State’s football coach. Again, zero ties to the school or prominent recruiting areas.
@Joel_Haas1 -When is Pat Kraft going to be forced to answer for having the worst combined men’s and women’s programs in major college basketball. He’s the common denominator. Time to step up financially and give those programs what they need to compete.
@Joel_Haas1 -PSU failed badly in the portal last year, but given Rhoades’ history of recruiting talent, how many of those failures were caused by being outbid by schools with more resources.
