Christians, you have got to stop being so gullible. Seriously, your naivete might feel warm and nice and friendly, but that's not how Christian love works.

A friend shared a viral post that listed all the un-Christlike things ICE is supposedly doing, such as using "children as bait," "shooting unarmed protesters," "teargassing families," and "terrorizing immigrant communities and people of color."

The whole post goes on and on like this, and it's dripping with moral outrage and emotional manipulation. What troubles me is that so many people share this like it's wise and insightful. This is textbook emotional ambush. No argument, no evidence, just big feelings.

But I'll tell you what isn't Christlike, and I've got scripture to back it up. Being GULLIBLE.

It isn't Christlike to be gullible. It isn't Christlike to believe and share debunked propaganda. It isn't Christlike to be led by your emotions. It isn't Christlike to outsource your critical thinking skills to the leftwing activists in the mainstream media.

So why are Christians so gullible? It's because they've been trained to think love means whatever it feels like in your happy place. If you do something that *feels* compassionate and think that's what Jesus wants you to do, you're wrong. Biblical love isn't about pointing your emotions in a particular direction. Rather, biblical love is defined by actions and attitudes prescribed in scripture. How you feel about it is of secondary concern.

What does the scripture say? "And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ." (Philippians 1:9-11)

First, notice what Paul prays for: that "your love may abound more and more." Clear enough. We're talking about genuine Christian love. But Paul qualifies it.

Second, "with knowledge and all discernment." In other words, Christian love is a thinking love. To discern is to make proper distinctions and draw clear moral boundaries. But why is that important?

Third, these things matter so "you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless." In other words, we need knowledge and discernment to anchor our love in what is good and right. Or as Paul says, to "approve what is excellent."

This sort of discerning love is "pure and blameless." If love lacks discernment, then is ceases to be pure and blameless. In fact, undiscerning "love" is not real love. It is all feelings and no wisdom. That's what we're seeing in Minneapolis. Christians claim to be "loving the stranger" without understanding proper biblical categories. It's love without discernment, and it's causing a lot of harm.

Paul's prayer is for love PLUS knowledge PLUS discernment. Love requires discernment. Period. Discernment is the rope that keeps people tethered to reality. Without it, love becomes a weapon that evil people use against you.

Without discernment, love gets twisted into a sentimental monstrosity. For the gullible and undiscerning, this kind of pseudo "love" claims the moral high ground. It does have some rhetorical advantages, which is why so many people fall for it. It sounds biblical enough to convince undiscerning people it must be right. But it's not. These are not arguments or facts. They are ear tickling slogans, nothing more.

Discerning love is pure and blameless. Undiscerning love is impure and blameworthy. It's obvious that the unhinged rioters and agitators bear the blame for their actions. But their Christian enablers bear some of the blame too. To claim the mantle of Christlikeness in service of lawlessness is evil, even if the one doing it is simply misguided.

The blame belongs to those Christians who are so desperate to feel compassionate that they'll believe anything, question nothing, and call it love.

Christians, we are morally responsible for how we love. We don't just get to feel sorry for an illegal immigrant and "stand up" for them and call it love. That's not love, no matter how strongly you feel it. Love does not spread leftist propaganda, "love rejoices with the truth" (1 Cor 13:6).

So, for all the gullible Christians who are angrily venting about ICE, your Christian love is not pure. It is not blameless. You are functioning as agents of chaos. You bear the blame for your irrational outrage.

So I'll say it again. Being gullible is a sin. Being undiscerning is a morally culpable act. It is wrong to carelessly wield the name of Christ, making false accusations against law enforcement and making excuses for criminals.

Your emotions and subjective ideas of Christlikeness don't dictate reality. Truth does. And truth requires discernment, not just feelings. We don't get to emote all over the place and call it love.

So Christians, stop being gullible. Start being discerning. That's what real love requires.

#2 Jesus hates Islam and wants it to be destroyed

#1 is why "the man in white" appears to so many Muslims in dreams, revealing to them that He is Jesus, that Jesus is God, and the way to be saved.

Pastor McKissic - thanks for engaging, I've appreciated a couple things I've seen from you in the past, and I think this is a pressing convo in evangelicalism. Quick correction and then quick response to your rebuke here:

1) As stated in the OP, I am not saying all Christians must vote Republican (although I do think that's the best strategy to defeat what the Left is becoming, and it MUST be defeated), but I *am* unequivocally and without reservation saying 0% of Christians should be voting for the current Democratic Party platform, yes.

2) We obviously don't determine truth and morality by the racial demographics of the people who believe things, and it is actually an overt sin to do so. If 90% of white people in South Carolina believed manstealing was ok in 1850, 90% of white people were just plain wrong.

To paraphrase the passage: "Let God be true, and 90% of [white or black people] be liars."

3) Completely agree, the kingdom of God *is* above all. That's why we have to ask who is defying it.

Very frankly, if you visit the DNC website and look at the publicly-stated policy proposals, you will see an infestation of abominable things they are openly advocating to enshrine into law as gross national sins.

Then, visit the RNC website and look at their publicly-stated policy proposals, and you will see 0 things of that nature.

4) You have ventured a public rebuke of me, I beg you allow me the grace to issue a gentle suggestion as well: It is actually political idolatry to be more devoted to a historic racial group party affiliation than one is to righteousness.

There is simply no justification for voting for the party that has/is openly seeking to enshrine into law...

- The redefinition of marriage
- ...Resulting in the placement of children en masse into perverse same-sex 'marriages', robbing them of mother and father
- Transing the kids and the erasure of gender
- Indoctrinating a generation of children into LGBT ideology via public school systems
- Max-boosting infant murder and publicly cheering it as a moral good
- The facilitation of the conditions necessary to commit mass voter fraud
- Critical Theory lenses that lock people into learned helplessness mindsets endlessly, robbing generations of the confidence necessary to succeed and thrive
- Open borders, resulting in the facilitation of a ~15M person lawless invasion of our nation
- And now (as OP alluded) openly electing jihad-friendly Muslim Communists

... and all of his is in addition to the reality that *everywhere* this party is in power, the accomplishment of the Great Commission and growth of the church gets exponentially harder.

5) I have watched you from afar a little, and you are clearly a man of courage who is willing to be a lone voice of dissent. I pray God will use that in your life, and if it is true that 90% of AA are voting as you say (I don't know the stats), I pray God will raise you up as an anointed prophetic voice of leadership to change that.

I realize this conversation has been "off limits" in our world for ~10 years, and I also very much realize having a conversation like this has cut me off from a large number of opportunities. I'm not an idiot (although you may disagree! ha!)

But, I also believe this conversation has become a critical one for the good of the cultural inheritance we all hand our children and the cultural conditions we hand the future of the church for the accomplishment of the Great Commission.

I pray it is helpful both to you and to onlookers in that regard.

Charlie Kirk gives a fantastic answer on whether Christians should focus more on the Gospel or on politics and policy.

Obviously the answer is Jesus, but I love that Charlie included the part below because it’s exactly how I came back to God. I became conservative first and then I became Christian (again)—not the other way around. And so the idea that Christians somehow shouldn’t be involved in the political sphere or shouldn’t focus on it is damaging. The truth helps win souls for Jesus—even if that truth comes first in the political sphere which lays the groundwork for the Gospel to be heard later.

In the OT, God’s people moved with the cloud of His presence—His Spirit (Num 10).

In the NT, they moved as the Spirit led—Philip (Acts 8), Peter (Acts 10), Paul (Acts 13, 16, 20), the whole church (Acts 15:28).

These communications came by dreams, visions, trances, prophets, angels, or direct words from the Spirit.

Cessationism praises these Scriptures but struggles to apply them, introducing a third category: believers who never hear the Spirit except through the text.

Should we be comfortable breaking with the pattern of every saint in Scripture?

If the same Spirit dwells in us, why would His voice now be silent?

@Eric_Conn This kind of syncretism is an absolute abomination to our Lord. If you are a pastor or leader and know someone in your church is a freemason, 1 Cor 5:9-13 commands you to not even eat with them (they've 100% pledged themselves to a god named Jahbulon). Holy Spirit is grieved
