Yes, it is an act of self-defense. The driver should receive the benefit of the doubt. They do not know what will happen when they come to a stop until it is too late. Protesters can communicate their message from the road edge 100%. Once they step out with the intention of cornering a driver, they have crossed over from free speech to physical assault.

If this is true, which I doubt, it will be self-correcting. There will be horrific accidents with collateral deaths of those in other vehicles that collide with the powered-off vehicle. The vehicle OEM will be sued out of existence. I know this tech was mandated during the Biden administration as a kill switch for law enforcement. I strongly oppose this due to the cyber risk. Before an attack, an enemy could paralyze roadways and thus responders by stopping thousands of vehicles in place. Imagine the chaos. I doubt finance companies would have lawful access, but if they do, it will be self-correcting.
