Senne Lammens hasnβt convinced me with his shot-stopping, but blaming him alone misses the bigger problem.
Look at the structure. Yoro, Tielemans and Mazraoui all have questions to answer. Why is Maitland-Niles completely free when United have almost everyone inside their own box?
That is not defending your box. That is occupying your box. Numbers mean nothing if nobody is responsible for the danger.
Maitland-Niles hit it brilliantly, but United made the shot possible. And on the first goal, Lammens has to protect his near post better.
Two goals, two problems. United arenβt just defending badly. Theyβre defending without enough clarity.

goal keeping at football is a role of moments
a role where you dont always have to do too much up until moments where the team needs you
in moments where the team needs you, you need to die trying and give 1000%
Lammens should be diving and giving everything to stop that ball.
They were never asking to be proved right. They were asking people to pay attention. A lot of what they warned about is now happening in plain sight. The commercialisation of Manchester United cannot come at the expense of the people who make this club what it is. I stand with The 1958. πΎπͺ #MUFC #TheTacticalEdge
π£οΈTHE WARNINGS AND THE TRUTH
Four years ago we warned where this was heading.
We warned about the marginalisation and eradication of generational match-going Reds. Nobody listened.
We warned about the Americanisation of our game. Nobody cared.
We warned that if Ratcliffe didnβt change direction, heβd become another Glazer in all but name.
Polls said give him more time.
So we did.
We even postponed a protest at Arsenal because fans wanted to give him more time. Again we got abuse.
That decision demotivated lads in The 1958 who have sacrificed years of their lives, time, money and energy fighting for this fanbase and never asked for a thing in return. Some lads had personal abuse. Not after sympathy, those are the facts.
We never asked for nothing in return. We always preferred to be pissing from the outside in. Stood shoulder to shoulder with you.
We have banged on about unity since day one.
And for the last 12 months we have spent an unbelievable amount of time trying to make it happen.

Endless frustration
Meanwhile some fans wanted to be edgy.
Some said it wasnβt their fight.
Some thought it would never affect them.
Well look around now.
Ticket prices.
Season Ticket sanctions.
Long standing Reds treated like suspects.
Time served Reds receiving banning orders.
Concessions disappearing.
More hospitality.
More premiumisation.
A future built around revenue, not supporters.
The chickens have come home to roost.
We take no pleasure in saying it, but we have got far more right than wrong.
And we wish we hadnβt.
This was never about being proved right.
It was about stopping it before it happened.
So now the question is simple.
Are you finally United around what we have been warning about since the day we formed?
Wake up and smell the coffee.
This is your Club.
This is your fight all generations all ages.
Are you with us, or against us?
Time is running out fast.

@pjstretfordend I don't think Manchester United's executives or players fully understand just how enormous that football club is, or how much it affects the happiness of millions of people around the world!
@djrsquared I do but that's clearly not a universal view and understandably so. Football is a game of opinion and criticising Carrick makes you an "Amorim sexual". Whatever that means!
Dear Manchester United supporters, lower your expectations and watch this team with cautious optimism.
There is still a lot that needs serious attention. We all watch this team and can see it. The ceiling simply feels too low right now.
One good result wonβt change that. The issues are structural, and Carrick has a lot of work to do. #MUFC #TheTacticalEdge
