Art is not an asset class. When we turn a sacred debut into a status symbol, we trade culture for a corporate invoice. Let’s bring the focus back to Bhavam and Thalam, and leave the bribes and kickbacks off the stage.

An Arangetram should test a dancer’s stamina, not a parent’s life savings. If the stage costs more than the skill, it’s not an art form anymore—it’s an auction.

Mamata Banerjee had allocated ₹5,713 crore in its interim budget before elections.
The BJP Government today has slashed it ton ₹2,165.42 crore.
That's a reduction of more than 50%.

I can safely predict that most of it will be spent on modernising Madrasas and turning them into proper schools with state-mandated curriculums.
As has been done in UP and Assam.

Good decision.
Hopefully, the allocation will be even lower next year!
