ADVENT - A Christmas Ghost Story from Dec 1 to Dec 24
Dec 1
WTF?
Where’s the chocolate? Just a picture of a dumb bird!
What kind of advent calendar hasn’t got chocolate in it?
Can’t believe I’m stuck here all Xmas in the middle of nowhere while you get to go to Darren’s party!
For anyone struggling through this pre-Xmas week, I’ve written a little poem (thread). Hope you like it…

The Christmas Lurgy
‘Tis the night before Christmas
And all through the town
Everyone’s yawning
And snuggling down…

#ChristmasGhostStory
In Hugwigs Retirement Home, there was a special locked room containing a magical object that could destroy the forces of darkness.
It had laid undisturbed for centuries.
Many residents had managed to get into the room, but then they couldn’t remember what they went in there for.
“I need to get whatever’s in that room!” said Harry.
“But it’s at the top of the stairs,” said Ron. “And you’ve got that dodgy hip.”
“I’ll have us there instantaneously,” cried Hermione. “Stannahstairliftius!”
“I thought you said instantaneously?” said Ron, twenty minutes later.
Chapter 1
“That’s a nasty scar you’ve got there!”
Harry smiled and said nothing. He’d been collecting his pension at the same counter in the same post office every fortnight for the past eight and a half years and every single time, Mrs Wainsprite had said the exact same thing.
@adultingworld I’m afraid events have rather superseded this story! I’ll try to figure out an alternate version - in the meantime, try my version of A Christmas Carol at @PaulRigbywtites (not as scary, though)

Black Magic - a Christmas Ghost Story
There was nothing scary about our house
Unless you find brown and orange geometric wallpaper scary, which nobody did then, for some reason
It was a perfectly normal semi on a perfectly normal street
Too young for memories
Too new for ghosts
She was right, of course. After sending me out, Dad would give the talisman to whoever sat to the left of the person in the red party hat (simple Christmas cracker manipulation ensured there was only one).
Her pale grin was so unbearable he was determined to outwit her this year
