@hankgreen Endometriosis. A disease most of my family has assumed I had, yet no doctor in my adult life had ever treated me for. And now was contributing to losing the ability to birth my own kids.

But! They also took my cervix, so I guess I'm safe from no HPV vax after all

@hankgreen I fall into the unvaxed bar. I grew up in the last generation not required to get the HPV vax. I found out in my late twenties that I could still get it at that time, but the titter wouldn't be very good. So I risked going without it. Meanwhile.....

@hankgreen I had 0 children born. Therefore, the diameter of my uterus should have been about 26". If I had ever given birth to a child, it would have been around 48". Mine was 57". They told me it had been riddled with enedmitriosis.

Until I got my hysterectomy. My full hysterectomy.

@SpankieV Women, especially women of color, are way more likely to not be taken seriously by doctors - particularly where pain is concerned. Even by women doctors! What's worse, women are far more likely to be misdiagnosed or under diagnosed. Possibly because most research is done on men?
