It occurs to me, one of the key reasons Twitter kinda sucks these days (besides bots) is that "For You" content is largely junk. The vast majority of what you get shown are big accounts following trends & posting dumb things just to get followers + engagement.

2) All it means is some people did those things. It isn't a measure of validity.
3) People were doing incorrect practices even in Paul's time, hence a key point to Paul's letters to the different church groups.

Scripture itself details *numerous* times where EXACTLY THAT was the case, where only small minorities of people upheld beliefs-

Not only have many changes taken place within that period of time (both in the RCC & Orthodoxy, though I know substantially more about the former), but continuity in many things in history is quite normal.
