Genuine account. A chance to be honest without potentially losing my job hence going undercover. Looking to connect and learn more about education. PE Teacher
Wishing all my fellow teachers a happy Sunday. I know it is has been a tough few months and the Summer is going to be spent with many questions in your head but try to take time for yourself. Sometimes you need to be selfish and be just be kind to yourself #thoughtoftheday
On a side note, it’s good to be back on teacher twitter. Gave myself a month off just to get my head sorted. All became slightly too much for me during lockdown etc!
PE teachers, what are you doing about fixtures next term? I’ve seen some schools doing sports camps, pre season and schools playing football friendlies etc. Surely fixtures aren’t okay as schools are going back in bubbles, social distancing rules and transporting pupils? #Help
@deputygrocott 1 hour 15 in morning and then whatever the M25 wants to give me on the way back. 57 miles is a bit of a commitment 🙈 but the job is great.
Always this ⬇️.
• You can be the best candidate and still not get selected.
• You weren’t rejected, you were redirected.
• “Your value does not decrease based upon someone’s inability to see your worth.”
All I see atm is teachers bringing others down for what they do🙃 whether it's twinkl posters, hessian backed displays, ikea frames - let people be. You do what you want in your classroom, and don't make people feel rubbish for what they choose to do.
Email from parent today:
Dear Mr ........,
Just trying to plan ahead. Is there a reason the fixtures aren’t online for the Autumn term? There doesn’t seem to be any girls fixtures either.

Need to give a nice calm response rather than replying how I want to...
Any PE teachers able to help? I have seen some schools currently doing swimming lessons but I thought all pools were closed? Or is it just public pools and you can still have lessons if you have a pool onsite? #Confused
The obsession with 'live' lessons is a red herring. There'is no evidence live lessons are better than recorded (https://t.co/qXS8YBn7rf). Indeed, recorded can be more flexible & used again; feedback more personalised etc. The notion live lessons replicate the classroom is false.
Don’t get me wrong, I know Gavin Williamson hasn’t got a clue and there is definitely not a plan in place but I would love for all kids to be back by September. Trying to look at it in a positive way otherwise it will just be a Summer spent worrying #PostitiveMindset
Having the plan for all schools opening in September is surely a positive! We may be in a much better place with the pandemic by then and if not then all kids won’t be going back so it won’t be any different. Big call saying they definitely will be but that’s what I’m hoping for!
When other people have a go at teachers for not doing anything, or that teachers should step up it makes me smile because I know they aren’t teachers and that I never have to work in the same profession as them. All I hope is that I teach their kids one day #Clueless#Teaching
First drop in session of today
Me: Hi (pupils name), have you got a question on the PE task for this week?
Pupil: No sir, I just wanted to show you that I had dyed my hair.
Me: Great, have you even looked at the task?
Pupil: No. Seriously though what do you think of the hair? 🙈
Looking through twitter over the last day or so, it seems as if the Teacher Twitter world is starting to get a little more judgemental and slightly less accepting of other people’s views. Just an observation. Understand emotions are up and down at the moment though #StickTogether
And there it is, broken the 50 followers barrier. The social media presence might be too much to cope with #Goals#LockdownBonus#RoadTo100
On a serious note, seen some great posts on social media today👌Teachers are certainly working hard #TeacherTwitter
In school today for the key workers children. Only 3 children but the youngest (Aged 6) instantly turns to me and says “It’s going to be a long day sir but we’ll have fun”.
The utmost respect to these kids though. Been in school everyday of lockdown but still positive #Mindset
