Dear @RajeshKumarSMLA sir
Chennai is fortunate to have a long coastline, three major rivers, and many lakes. The kind of natural assets that very few cities possess.
With collaboration of the Urban Development Ministry under @CMOTamilnadu , we can clean and revive these waterways and create well-designed riverfronts and lakefronts that boost micro local level tourism and provide more recreational spaces for residents of the city. This also will have ripple economic effects in welcoming more talents into the city for other service sectors.
We could have drone show as a key attraction across these riverfronts or blue flag beaches.
Right now, activity along ECR 🏄♂️ surfing schools and boat docks is happening organically, but the ecosystem remains fragmented leaving tourists left at the mercy of their private guides making them vulnerable to poor or fraudulent arrangements leaving a lasting bad impression about the state or city.
The Tamil Nadu Tourism Board should modernize their stays to international standards and retrain ground staff at tourist spots in soft skills such as communication, hospitality, and courtesy. Increasing transparency with online ticketing for spots, visits, parking and verified booking platforms will make visits safer and more convenient.👩🍳
Already AP state is trying to rejuvenate their coastal town attraction by introducing shacks along the urban beach,🥂🎇 and out here Chennai has 100kms of beach front which could be promoted for MICE , Remote working, Destination wedding by building big MICE infra along ECR, introducing quality PPP shacks & micro breweries for the young crowd apart from family friendly recreational spots catering to all type of tourists. Entire ECR branded together as a personal and corporate coastal getaway of the east ! 🏖️
For all this to work well good connectivity for tourists is essential. The current infra at MAA airport makes Chennai less welcoming and harder to reach for many travelers due to pathetic connectivity. Developing Parandur as a growth-focused airport could be a key element of your ministry’s strategy.
These improvements will require aligned policy, infrastructure investment, and design standards that meet international benchmarks. Similar gaps exist across other towns in the state, but the aspiration is the same: transparent, visitor-friendly, visually attractive destinations that generate revenue and local pride.
Please consider these ideas for a coordinated coastal and waterways tourism strategy.

👍🏽This is a good start , given that South Korea is very strong in Fintech and financial infrastructure technologies💰
Hyosung T&D specializing in Power Infrastructure currently has offices at #Chennai and #Pune , and a factory outside Pune. But Hyosung TNS which is into Fintech has only minor business and support function offices in Chennai , Mumbai etc.,
@Keerthana4VNR mam, please look into possibilities of them expanding big with GCC in Chennai at the upcoming Fintech city.
Also Korean tech giants like LG, Samsung, Doosan as leaders in memory components and cooling systems are essential for the growing AI datacentre supply chain.
Now that #Chennai is firmly placed in Datacentre map, they might want to be closer to the growing user base if rightly pitched. We should actively get their design centre units established here as a seed for growth later.

Under the leadership of Hon'ble CM Thiru C. Joseph Vijay, the Government of Tamil Nadu is committed to strengthening the state's industrial ecosystem and attracting global manufacturing investments.
During my visit to South Korea, I had a productive meeting with the leadership of Hyosung TNS, a global leader in self-banking technologies. We discussed opportunities in Tamil Nadu and explored potential collaborations in advanced manufacturing and technology sectors.
I am delighted that Hyosung TNS is considering the establishment of a greenfield manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu for the production of ATMs serving both domestic and global markets. We will extend our full support to this initiative and look forward to welcoming Hyosung TNS to Tamil Nadu.

Even if they have residential pockets their places can be redeveloped as proper modern residences in- situ .
But obviously it cannot be unlimited horizontal sprawl, and allied benefits got by the growing tourism business can be a incentive for them ...like how kovalam fishermen community benefit out of surfing ecosystem
@UpdatesChennai Coastal delta region lacks airport connectivity.. South Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai & allied regions depend on Trichy or Pondy ..
Neyveli even if happens will be farther from coast .. Karaikal would have been ideal but that private airport proposal never got launched

🐐The Goat Kanchipuram🔥84% growth with that base😎up and onward towards #1 !
With more EV related expansion in present auto facilities and EMS investments including Display unit, Sanmina and likes this is going to only grow much !
Now imagine its potential if a proper airport vicinity infrastructure can bring in with a dedicated air cargo village.!
Also at ground level every micro market there right from Oragadam , Sriperumbudur lacks social infra and looks more like Tier 3 village intersection. 🙄
Government should ideally have a long term vision to collaborate with big RE to codevelop the place with housing, recreations creating a separate satellite node for Chennai , in likes of Gurugram.

Kanchipuram district in Chennai is Enroute to becoming India's biggest merchandise export hub in coming years. But the place doesn't have proper rail & air connectivity. The irony...🤷♂️
