If you have an interest in food and food history, but don't know where to start to begin reading about it, I keep a running list of books over on Pinterest at https://t.co/yTw77tVBrz - I add to it when I find interesting books.
Mmm, if the storm paths like visual 1, we might get that epic surf we got after Sandy in 2012. (Yes, Sandy. Storm was so huge its remnants impacted the Great Lakes.) Would have to imagine that with the current higher lake water levels that the surf would be even more dramatic.
New storm is on the left and first advisory from Hurricane #Michael in 2018 is on the right. Michael was originally forecast to hit as a tropical storm but strengthen to Cat 5 in four days and destroyed Mexico Beach.
Do not underestimate this storm.
Most of us don't think about living with a disability on a regular basis, nevermind attempting to navigate an unknown city with one. Great article about #Austin from @AFARmedia https://t.co/4ipNFVFTmi 🧏
@byMorganWright And mostly they're "classic" styles so one can't really look at them & go "that is SO 2003". But occasionally I find something that I know is from high school or college & I'm like dammmmn I always loved this piece, I'm so glad I held onto it! Don't even care if it's "in style".
@byMorganWright I'm on a weight loss journey and have lost nearly 200 lbs, so I've been cleaning out my closets to donate what no longer fits. In the process, I've found tons of clothes that I held onto ("I'll fit back in them one day") & now fit into. It's like getting a "free" wardrobe. 😁
Anyone else hate “fashion trends”? “Mom jeans are out, skinny jeans are out, graphic t-shirts are in, low rise pants are out, denim skirts are out, tie tops are in” & on & on & on.
Coming from someone who loves fashion, seriously, who the f*ck cares💀🤣?? I dress to enjoy myself & to express myself creatively (on my terms). And I’m also not looking at other people’s clothes thinking “oh wow, did you see that😱? She’s wearing last year’s trend🤯. So lame & outdated”🤣🤣.
I’ve said it before & I’ll keep saying it: Wear whatever the hell you want to😘❤️.
@MemoirJoyGirl Yes, but because a travel writer who's also a photographer, I feel I get more attention for my photos than my writing. 😁 Not sure what I'd use my IG for if I didn't enjoy photography.
@LadyJenPool .... how are you supposed to "eat better" than nice fruits & veg & nuts? 🤔 I mean what would be helpful if he gave you a clue what's "missing" in your diet, like "hey, your vit D levels are low" - very common in people who spend a lot of time inside or in northern climates.
If you encounter a bear in the woods, stay calm. Identify yourself by making noise so the bear knows you are a human. We recommend using your voice. Waving and showing off your opposable thumb means nothing to the bear.
@LadyJenPool I have to say that when I started having body issues after bariatric (feeling like I was looking "melty", not losing fast enough, then started losing a LOT of hair), it felt *really* good to get a nice short new haircut, then go home & dye my hair. 🫶♥️
@lonelyplanet I know we went to Québec at some point when I was very young. But the first international trip I actually *remember* was a high school trip to Paris, Switzerland, & Italy.
Finally, the 1960 film "À bout de souffle" ("Breathless") is considered one of the best films ever made. It was landmark for its bold visuals and use of then unconventional jump cuts.

Vive la France, & profitez des films! 🎥🇫🇷 /fin
But let's get beyond Hollywood's visions of France, and look at French films.
1987's outstanding & unforgettable "Au revoir les enfants" tells a story of French resistance during occupation in WW2.
