@erniewiseswig @SpeechUnion He would of had the opportunity to have legal consultation the entire time he was in police custody and before his appearance at court. So no conviction is getting overturned for that I'm afraid.

@AmbroseBarnaby Due to your parents ages, it's likely a care plan will be going in (or should be). If they feel they need some support getting over it then they should be mentioning that to the oic and in the victims personal statement how much it's had an effect.

@AmbroseBarnaby They should have a crime reference number, they can ring up the force switch board and a make a complaint should they wish.

@AmbroseBarnaby It's not unusual for officers to be allocated crimes while on leave, in this case it's likely because it's classed as low risk and doesn't need to be actioned now.
