when my ancestors landed in massachusetts circa 1630 (father’s side) and virginia circa 1640 (mother’s side), america was two dots on the east coast. just those two dots. their combined population was around 20,000
over the next 15 generations, their descendants, also my …
Canadian hatred for the US is so bizarre
They have no historical grievance to blame it on, & they've been directly complicit in all the Evil Empire stuff that a third-worldist would complain about
Seems 100% psychological: "not-American" is the only thing they know how to be
Yeah…that’s not gonna happen. I call it soccer. I own it proudly. I never apologize for it. If you grew up calling it soccer and changed out of insecurity or some misguided belief it makes you more authentic/credible…it doesn’t. It’s cringe. It makes you look like a weak poser.
It already goes without saying, but the fact that “fraud enablement in voting” is a key Democratic (and apparently Utah GOP) platform sort of gives away the game.
We left this gaping hole, but don’t ever let us catch you noticing it.
For some low income, I’m absolutely persuadable. For folks who have way more in terms of value, net worth, and passive income than their descendants? I don’t think this is a reasonable shift.
If they gave the farm to the kid, that’s one thing. That’s not what we are seeing here.
The tragedy of Stephen Colbert is that he really is a brilliant comedic talent and—according to those who know him in real life—a kind and thoroughly decent man.
He could have maintained his liberal political beliefs while ring-fencing them from the Late Show and no one would have cared.
Instead, though, he sold out, electing to become little more than a regime-media court jester, a funny man’s Rachel Maddow.
He chose pandering to an actuarially decaying audience of geriatric shitlibs over remaining funny to a broad and politically inclusive audience, and he ultimately paid the price through declining relevance, reduced ratings. and decimated advertising revenue.
It would be tragic, if it weren’t so completely well deserved.
@LargeInStature_ It’s worthwhile. He was the presumptive second place. Little is not a great pick, and this guy sucked up legit right-leaning votes against Little.
If you’re a rabid antimo in Idaho, you at least need to have the political instincts to keep your mouth shut. He clearly doesn’t.
He is just too stupid for politics. Touting the Ammon Bundy endorsement solidifies that.
It sucks because that was the only real shot we had vs Little. I even very seriously considered him until I was reminded of the timing and context of his comments. Dumb.
I hate how squishy Little is, but deciding to attack our Christianity the same day one of our churches is burned and our children are murdered by a man making virtually identical arguments to what Mark made (and are in the comments to his very post) is categorically disqualifying.
I just spoke with a Mormon at a meet and greet in the Idaho Falls area. He told me he was concerned about voting for me because people are accusing me of hating Mormons on social media.
After 5 minutes, he understood my heart. And he was not worried about voting for me anymore.
It probably helped I told him about my Mormon attorney I spoke with today and a Mormon’s podcast I’m filming on tonight. Also, I was hosted at a Mormon friend’s house last night.
Also, I’m endorsed by Mormons including Ammon Bundy.
I don’t hate Mormons.
That’s ridiculous.
Every experience is a thrill when you get to share it with a kid. Anytime I do something fun and I don’t have all my kids with me I just think about how much I wish the missing kid(s) were there.
I’m not saying there’s no need to a couples trip but, honestly this seems lame.
Hot take, pay them way more. Million a year or whatever, catastrophically large pension. Then execute (or if you’re more humane, exile) them if they engage in self dealing of any kind.
Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.
I get more engagement (and I get zero, effectively) making minor niche latter day snippets than freaking David French does on the Dispatch account.
I really think if we can pretend he doesn’t exist, he doesn’t.
@martianwyrdlord@extradeadjcb They get more nervous when you pronounce the name correctly, especially one as Americanized as this one. “What character?”
Chinese real estate isn’t as fake as fiat or crypto, but kind of. Speculative projects half built, never occupied. Always designed as investments, not actual occupied housing or commercial. They view real estate as a sure thing, so everyone pumps money, it’s just speculation.
Also me waking up in the middle of the night with a fantastic idea for a book and not writing it down because I'll definitely remember it in the morning.
