REPORT:
The Patriots got lucky with Drake Maye
Per: @MikeReiss
“If Drake Maye was part of this year's draft class, he would probably be the No. 1 pick.”
“That was the opinion a national scout
shared with ESPN NFL Nation reporters.
So while the value of the Patriots' No. 4 pick might not be as high as it would in other years, one silver lining for the franchise is that it is fortunate to have landed Maye last year.”
"The top guys in this class wouldn't be in the top three from last year's crop, in my opinion," the scout said. "Good debate on if they would be in the top five actually."
@DynastyZoltanFF I’ve seen teams try to corner the QB market and fall flat on their faces. 0-4 with no flex start able players will lower the QB’s values
@Dynasty_Addicts There is definitely something there, issue is Wiggins is the salary match piece and makes half of what Jimmy does.
How much of an upgrade is this year’s version Jimmy to Wiggins if it means losing Moody, Kuminga, and PG3?
@Dynasty_Addicts Not saying it’s not possible but the new CBA rules have made it extremely difficult for big trades to happen and with Jimmy’s attitude issues in the past some teams are not going to be interested
@Dynasty_Addicts Houston struggles with shooting and would move Fred plus to get another guy who needs the ball in his hands and can’t spread the floor?
GS would be very tough too because they can’t trade Schroder with another contract until the deadline and Wiggins doesn’t make enough.
@Dynasty_Addicts I get that but the issue is all of the teams in the luxury tax can’t aggregate salaries to match.
I can’t see a single team that wants to give big assets for a 35 year old with a player option next year with locker room concerns that can’t shoot 3’s making $52.5M next year
