@Rjw6996 @michaelcollado There needs to be at least a 24 hour buffer before spoilers are openly discussed. The episode aired at 2am my time. I was looking forward to seeing it when I was done with work today. Seeing it pop up, unprompted, on my timeline on my morning commute was really unfair.

@EnnnDeee I don't live in the US and don't have the ability to prioritise watching an episode live at 2am on a weeknight. The luxury of being unspoiled should not be restricted to those who find themselves conveniently located to witness a show as it airs. The rest of the world exists.

@EnnnDeee Yes, but there was also less social media too. Back then, in order to be spoiled, you'd need to willingly be present at the water cooler the next day while people discussed the show. Spoiling the finale while the episode is still airing, unprompted and without warning, is tacky.

@donnasfever @michaelcollado Your snark would be only marginally less misplaced if you had looked at the time that tweet was posted and realise that it was literally right after the episode aired (as in minutes) if not during the episode itself. The whole spoiler culture of "get off the internet" is deranged

@MovieCriticSA Speaking about originality without mentioning Alasdair Gray, who wrote the beautiful and evocative novel. Also, seems a bit odd and reductive to compare it to Burton and Waititi when people like Luis Buñuel and Peter Greenaway were cited by Lanthimos as influences instead.
