It is essential that the creative trade unions are represented on the Creative Industries Council
If the Government is to stay true to its commitment to workers’ rights and the creative industries as a pillar of growth, we expect at the very least that the workforce is collectively represented on the council

Good news for workers as the Employment Rights Bill will become law
As freelance writers fall outside much of traditional employment law, it makes the work of creative unions even more important!
We'll continue our vital work negotiating, campaigning + lobbying for writers in the UK + representing our members on an individual basis
🚨BREAKING: Employment Rights Bill passes in the House of Lords and will become law.
This is an historic day for working people across the country, and the trade unions who represent them.
Some of the watershed measures this Bill delivers:
➡️ Banning exploitative zero hours contracts
➡️ Sick pay for all from day one
➡️ Expanding paternity, parental and bereavement leave
➡️ Strengthening protections for pregnant women, whistle-blowers and victims of sexual harassment
➡️ Making flexible working the default
➡️ Repealing Tory anti-union laws
Unions and workers have long campaigned for these vital rights.
Finally, working people will enjoy more security, better pay and dignity at work thanks to this Bill.
Yesterday saw the publication of an independent review of @ace_national by Baroness @margarethodge
We welcome the review and the acknowledgment that ACE needs change to better serve the creative workforce

We have sent a message of solidarity to our friends @AWG_1 this morning following the terrible antisemitic attack at Bondi Beach yesterday
There is no place for violence and hatred in our society
Creators + the creative industries have spoken loud and clear about copyright + AI
A Government statement released today reveals details of responses to its consultation on the subject earlier this year + the results are overwhelming
