"Never start a bombing campaign that will completely halt shipping in the Strait of Hormuz" is right up there with "never get involved in a land war in Asia” in terms of the classic blunders.
@JeffFynnPaul Dude. You teach at Leiden. I dare you to name a SINGLE Prof who would describe themselves as either a Marixst and/or fantasizes about a violent-ish "revolution."
Couple of hippies in there, sure, this is just a ridiculous lie.
🚨MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT🚨
Ok. You've all convinced me. I'm in.
I'm running for Senate against billionaire Pete Ricketts In Nebraska.
This race represents the foundational battle taking place in America right now:
The Billionaire Class vs. The Working Class
Who's with me?

CNN laid me off more than two years ago.
I want to acknowledge that before I say what I am going to say about David Zaslav, who runs the parent company of CNN.
I have never met the man. I do not have sour grapes. It’s a tough job etc.
But, let me highlight two recent decisions (among MANY others) that make me question whether this guy should be making $40+ million a year.
1. Max is now changing its name BACK to HBO Max — two years after they abandoned “HBO.” Which was always idiotic since HBO is an amazing brand associated with high-end and critically acclaimed programming.
2. CNN announced that it is launching a streaming service after Zaslav killed CNN+ when he took over. I am not saying CNN+ was a perfect idea but why kill a streaming service only to start it again three years later (and WAY after all of your competitors are in the space???)
Navigating the media landscape as the head of a massive legacy company is not easy. I grant that. But committing obvious errors like this? It’s amazing to me that the Zaslav still has a job — much less that he is making tens of millions doing it.
