@Penny_Zang @AlissaCMiles I’m on Discord with 5amwriters club but I’m old enough to remember chatrooms and what happens if you don’t check in on the regular. Just the time it takes to catch up on the 500 posts I missed make me realize that perhaps this isn’t my medium… Twitter was so easy in that way.
@Penny_Zang @AlissaCMiles I miss you people! My postable thoughts stay unposted (which is no great loss, lol), but I miss the friends and the banter. Tried starting over on Mastodon but no one is there…

Great to see your words, @sarafnovak. What a fascinating take on the need for loneliness. That if feeling lonely while with others, we’re “subconsciously thinking that this crowd might not be a good evolutionary fit for [our] survival.”
I’ve been to that party, lol

Twitter is removing content promoting other social platforms. Feels like a kapok tree saying it doesn’t need the rainforest, but whatever. As a precaution, I’ve trimmed my links from my bio. Follow me here and I will follow back: https://t.co/YpjLEev3cA
@Penny_Zang His elf analyst, in a high squeaky voice: “That precocious child has a point. While it would affect the ‘will we make it?!’ panicked storyline of every Santa movie, I won’t lie to you, Nick, economically speaking, Amazon does has advantages...”
we criticize hollywood for lazy tropes but our two main antagonists right now is a former kgb agent with a penchant for poisoning and an emerald mine heir who wants to live on mars. if these were bond villains they’d be dismissed as caricature
All this to say moderation is a good thing. If Elon can’t self moderate, Apple and other advertisers will do it for him. If that doesn’t work, the laws of the land may help, if not here, then in EU.
We can hope anyway. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
Be good to each other.
We probably all got this notice from Elon about free speech this morning. (Exhibit A)
We clearly collectively don’t know what the “free” part of free speech is. Speech can be limited—and should be—if it causes harm. As in: could kill people. Misinformation can. (Exhibit B)
Meanwhile, Elon’s putting his posts on the top of our feeds like he’s the savior of humanity while simultaneously mocking people and posting conspiracies.
Elon is packing Twitter with TNT and handing out matches.
