A huge thank you to the Think Tank for sharing their #ThinkingTools at today’s #MetacognitionMeet @Danescourtprm - a great afternoon meeting your wonderful students and quizzing them about their learning.
Philosophy for Children (#P4C) improves teaching & learning for the lasting benefit of all.
It builds higher order thinking, questioning, speaking and listening skills.

The latest in a series of Ofsted reports to recognise the impact of Philosophy for Children in Societas Trust schools - this time it's the wonderful Summerbank Primary. You can read more about their story in this article on the @SAPERE_P4C website https://t.co/eA09HNd3xb
If your school already benefits from #P4C, you could hold this 1-day course to develop your practice with Thinking Moves A–Z. It's the simple, memorable approach to metacognition! In partnership with @dialoguewks. Learn more: https://t.co/uLMmtstqYd
A course in Thinking-Moves A-Z: Metacognition made simple from @dialoguewks is the next offer from the 21st Century Learners Oracy Hub, based in Staffs. You can find out more about this course & our forthcoming P4C Across the Curriculum workshops here https://t.co/F1ZFzIYMRr
This week's question made us think about the qualities of a good leader e.g. strength, resilience, kindness, and understanding.
We talked about how good leaders encouraged others and listened to others' points of view.
What qualities would you add? #p4c#thinkingskills#oracy
It is always a privilege – and a reminder of the immense gravity of the conscience of children – to witness when philosophical enquiry in the classroom #P4C gives rise to such deep moral thought.
Thank you for sharing, @ThinkingBPA.
Our image made us think about war. We connected it to things happening in the world today. We pictured how it might feel to be a refugee and weighed up whether it's safer to stay or leave a war-torn country and whether it takes more courage to stay or leave. #p4c#thinking
@thinkschoolcom The routine is embedded, so we now link the @dialoguewks Thinking Move, Zoom in and Zoom out to support us with the 'see' part of the routine and a range of other Thinking Moves to support us with the next two stages.
The Faculty of Education Talk Series continues to reveal more good stuff @CamEdFac - here is @RSabates72 of @REAL_Centre sharing some results from a big collaboration with the government of Ethiopia ( @dawit_tibebu )

Oracy in the National Curriculum as a separate entity? Yes! About time too. Couple that with Philosophy for Children @SAPERE_P4C and you have an enormously powerful combination to raise standards, especially for our disadvantaged children!
From out statement today: "Thirty years of advancing Philosophy for Children (P4C) has taught us that oracy is best delivered in the context of meaningful dialogue and enquiry that is skilfully facilitated by teachers and driven by young people’s curiosity."
The focus on #oracy announced by @UKLabour today offers some real hope, in part because it opens to door to #P4C. Thank you @keir_starmer, @bphillipsonmp. We look forward to joining consultation if opportunity comes, on how to implement oracy in practice. https://t.co/BVtCYu263z
Best wishes to our friends Dr. James Mannion and Roger Sutcliffe. Joining forces to discuss Metacognition in Action. June 23rd. If you're able to make it, here are the details: https://t.co/gCevmFZUFy
