Kind of you to point to what you think is a cycle path or shared path, but it really is not. I understand you were still annoyed that you were caught on your phone, but showing your ignorance won’t help your case.
@glachlan@OpenChiswickW4@MattRodda I am glad you enclosed e-bike within apostrophes here, it ‘means’ you have learned not to believe all that a seller tries to tell you.
Sadly many parents will see “e-bike”, and having heard that e-bikes are legal, buy one for their child.
If you don’t know or accept that using a handheld mobile phone when stationary is similarly illegal, when will you ever? Perhaps when the police write in a week or two.
The weather was a bit grim six months ago on the first of December, though this distant footage was clear enough for the police to take “positive action” against the driver using a mobile phone.
@AndyConnion I made a theatrical show of shielding my eyes, but he would not have appreciated my efforts as his head was looking into the device on his lap.
@Rrrrooster@RuthMayorcas That may not have been a choice, I think you were first to raise the point that it is funded by ‘City Deal’ money, which I gather can’t be used for maintenance of existing facilities.
I had the opportunity to ride the recently opened, but clearly unfinished, Cambridge ‘Cycle Street’ – after I had given way to the ubiquitous handheld phone driver.
IMO, a half-hearted attempt designed by a committee.
